On November 19 the 23^rd Annual session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) started its three-day work in Geneva.

Within the High-level segment of the session participants are discussing such issues as: ways to overcome current negative trends in energetics; securing affordable and sustainable energy: accelerating what works; reinforcing the links among natural gas, renewable energy and energy efficiency to achieve a sustainable energy system.

Also, during the Committee's work a new composition of its Bureau will be elected for 2014-2015 as well as issues of the Committee's future activities will be discussed.

The representatives of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva participate in the Committee's annual session.
