On March 21 Mr. Yurii Klymenko, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine in Geneva met with Mrs. Arancha Gonzalez, the Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC). 

The issues of cooperation between ITC and Governmental authorities and business community of Ukraine were discussed, in particular, the preparation of the technical assistance project to increase competitiveness of agricultural companies in Kherson region. At the same time, it was agreed to explore a possibility of launching new joint initiatives in areas of interest to Ukraine in the future.

Attention was paid to ITC’s assistance in implementation of Trade Facilitation Agreement by Ukraine, including by means of participation of ITC’s experts in the seminar on the abovementioned topic to be held by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade at the end of April 2014 in Kyiv.

Y.Klymenko gave an adequate assessment of the Russian side’s actions in the context of recent developments in Crimea and informed about the efforts of the Ukrainian Government to stabilize the situation in the country, particularly in the trade and economic spheres, as well as to realize its Eurointegration course.
