The 13th Meeting of the States-Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction (Ottawa Treaty) holds its sessions form 2 through 6 December 2013 inGeneva.
The Meeting involved participants from the States Parties to the Convention, observer countries and international and nongovernmental organizations, including United Nations Department for Disarmament Affairs, European Commission, Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Demining, International Committee of the Red Cross and others.
Ukraine is represented at the Meeting by the official delegation which includes experts from the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva, National Council for Security and Defense, Ministry of Defense, State Emergency Service of Ukraine, State Space Agency of Ukraine and SE "Ukroboronservice".
The Meeting will discuss issues related to the universalization of the Convention, implementation of its provisions for the destruction of stockpiles of landmines and clearing mined areas, as well as assess the progress in achieving the aims of the Cartagena Action Plan.
